WELCOME JAPAN AIRLINES TO MEAL PRESENTATION FROM 19-21MAY 2025
21/07/2025
From 19th to 21st May 2025, Vietnam Airlines Caterers (VACS) was honored to welcome Japan Airlines to a structured three-day meal presentation session at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. This biannual review—attended by representatives from JAL Headquarters and the SGN station—focused on evaluating new inflight meal proposals for JL070 and JL750, with implementation scheduled for September 2025.
This session marked not only a continuation of long-standing partnership, but also a clear alignment with evolving priorities in global airline catering: health-conscious cuisine, cultural authenticity, and passenger wellbeing.

To VACS, the session offered more than an opportunity to present a menu. It provided a structured platform for culinary dialogue around portion control, micronutrient diversity, and ingredient sourcing — themes increasingly central to inflight product development.
Working closely with JAL’s onboard service and catering audit teams, our chefs received constructive feedback on how to further integrate Japanese dietary principles with modern inflight service requirements. Examples included the use of fermented vegetables to improve gut health during long flights, and the reduction of animal fats in favor of plant-based oils with better reheating stability.
Japan Airlines and VACS have worked together for many years, grounded in a relationship that values consistency, continuous learning, and shared responsibility for passenger satisfaction. This latest session reinforced a mutual commitment to high standards — not just in taste and presentation, but in how meals support physical wellbeing at 30,000 feet.
We sincerely thank Japan Airlines for their trust, transparency, and collaboration. As we prepare for the upcoming menu rollout, we remain committed to developing meals that are not only authentic and refined, but also aligned with the values of nutrition, sustainability, and care — values that Japan Airlines exemplifies.
